Stretcher Drilling Guide for Straight 1" Diameter Leg Tenons

The Stretcher Drilling Guide for 1" Diameter Straight Leg Tenons allows you to easily drill holes in chair legs for stretchers. This Guide works just like my original Stretcher Drilling Guide for tapered tenons, but is designed for straight 1" diameter tenon joinery.

This Basic Kit includes the following:
Two Weld Nuts
Threaded Rod with two jam nuts
Center-Finder
1/2" Drill extension shaft - 18" Long
1/2" Coupler - To connect the shaft to your 1/2" shank drill bit
1/2" Rod end Bearing
Center-Finder
H-Fixture
Stick Chair Bushing

Also, this Guide requires a drill capable of accepting 1/2" shank drill bits; and a 1/2" shank brad-point bit with a long center-brad to work correctly for acute angles. You can order these types of drill bits from W.L. Fuller:

* Be sure to request a bit with the long center brad (which is ideal for drilling at angles), and a 1/2" Shank with 3 flats.

Notes:

1. This Guide is made for 1" Diameter Straight/Cylindrical holes.

2. The 14” threaded rod supplied with the Guide is long enough for almost all chair designs. However if you are making a bar stool, you may need a longer a threaded rod. You can simply make you own from really available 1/2-20 threaded rod, or you can purchase additional lengths pre-cut threaded rod from us. Please see the accessories product category.

3. The Drill Extension comes with a flat machined on one end of the shaft for the 1/2 coupler.
