Combo Kit - Stretcher and Seat Drilling Guides

This Combo Kit includes both the Stretcher Drilling Guide Mk III and the Seat Drilling Guide Mk II. These Guides allow you to easily drill holes in chair legs for stretchers, and in chair back posts for arm rests (from 4-1/2" to 12-1/4" from the bottom of the seat); and also easily drill holes in chair seat blanks for leg, arm post and spindle mortises.

These Guides require a drill capable of accepting 1/2" shank drill bits; and a 1/2" shank brad-point bit with a long center-brad to work correctly for acute angles. We sell theses types of bits under our Trident line of drill bits. This Guide should work fine if you are already using these types of "chairmaking" bits with a 1/2" shank.

The Stretcher Drilling Guide Mk III includes the following:
Tapered Base
Threaded Rod with two jam nuts
Center-Finder
1/2" Drill extension shaft - 18" Long
1/2" Coupler - To connect the shaft to your 1/2" shank drill bit
1/2" Rod end Bearing

The Seat Drilling Guide includes the following:
Seat Drilling Guide Mk II
Set-Up Block/Angle Gauge
Threaded Rod with 3 jam nuts
1/2" Drill extension shaft - 10" Long
1/2" Coupler - To connect the shaft to the 1/2" shank drill bits
1/2" Rod End Bearing

Notes:
1. The Stretcher Drilling Guide is made for a 6 degree reamed holes. Please let us know if you use a different reamer (Lee Valley Reamer, 11 degree reamer, etc.) We should be able to accommodate you.

2. The Drill Extension comes with a flat machined on one end of the shaft for the 1/2 coupler.
